About Us.
Presently, Bookshooter is being crafted and led by three friends with unique skill sets that converged over 2009-2010 to form the vision and intent of Bookshooter.com.
Real Person #1: Chris Wang.
Chris is has been an entrepreneur, systems architect, and software developer since he was a teenager. Finishing his B.S. degree in Computer Systems Engineering and B.A. in Psychology at Stanford University, California in 1999, Chris has been employed as a strategy consultant and CTO by international firms. His love for computers began since the dawn of the green terminal in the 80's. His aptitude as a software developer has been shaped over the years by his love for people, and his desire to create systems that benefit the public with media, books, and music in particular that are easy to use and profitable to distribute. One of his chief contributions to the Bookshooter system is the foundational, custom software he has designed. It is built for both the enterprise user--someone who might license the foundations of the software--in a huge commercial site, or an entry level user who wants the opportunity to scale with size. Designed especially for distributing digital products from a multi-user, or contributor model, the software has the capacity to achieve an enormous scale of business throughput. In other words Chris' great contribution to this enterprise: Bookshooter can grow and grow and grow with both small and large publishers while never compromising the system's stability, security protocols, or safety nets. Chris loves to build it...so you can use it!
Real Person #2: Ben Pasley.
Ben has been an entrepreneur in the arena of producing and performing music for over 20 years ... so long ago, in fact, that he remembers saying farewell to the cassette tape as a viable sales product. He finished his Bachelor of Arts degree back in 1989 from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, and set out on an evolving career that has blended public presentations, concert booking, international travel, music production, and artist coaching. Being a self-publishing, independent musician over that time period he has amassed a wealth of personal knowledge related to effectively creating and distributing digital media, like the MP3 music album. Back in 2001 he published his first book with startup, Relevant Media, and recently has become a self-publishing author and an author's coach. As a multi-disciplinary publisher Ben has learned the basics of profitably self-publishing works which leads to his strongest contributions to the Bookshooter system: the creation of a clearly communicated, streamlined process for every participating author to create and sell an ebook. Ben's motto for this kind of stuff: "You can do it!"
Real Person #3: Stefanie Rohman.
Stefanie was born in Aurora, Colorado but grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. She studied English literature at Texas Christian University, receiving her Bachelors in Art, and then went on to study Secondary Education at the University of North Texas, receiving her Masters Degree. She taught at an inner-city middle school in Fort Worth for five years before she moved back to Colorado. After teaching at a local high school for two years she moved to Thailand for a year to teach at an international school. Her diverse background in education has uniquely suited her to help coach and serve the authors who bring their works to Bookshooter. She presently resides in Woodland Park, Co with her husband Jason and daughter, Evangeline Ari. In her free time, she loves to write, play drums, read, cook, and drink coffee with friends. Her motto for life is still a quote she pulled from a backpack she carried around in junior high, “It’s okay to be ambitious for simple things.” Stefanie will be your personal connection to help you enjoy Bookshooter.com.
